  • 40 hour position requires day, evening, night, and weekend coverage flexibility.

Provides quality, holistic and cost-effective advanced practice care for patients, families, and others in the vascular and thoracic surgical population and participates in the surgical and medical management of patients to achieve and/or maintain optimal health status, manage disease and reduce risk of illness. Duties will include, patient management and crisis intervention on the surgical and critical care units primarily including, but not limited to, the vascular and thoracic patient population, as well as discharge planning, and in-patient and emergency department consultations.  This position may require assistance in the operating room and skill development with procedures such as tube thoracostomy placements.  40 hour position requires day, evening, night, and weekend coverage flexibility.

Nurse Practitioner (APRN) / Physician Assistant Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or APRN Program
Current Connecticut PA/APRN license
Board Certified or Eligible (If eligible-certification must be accomplished within 3 months of hire).  Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s preferred for PA position Master’s required for APRN position.
Demonstrated ability of positive interaction with the medical/nursing staff and other members of the multidisciplinary team. This position works closely with surgical residents.  Surgical experience preferred but will consider new graduate.
